Geo-Education Day: Geospatial and Development

It is within the framework of its scientific and cultural activities, and in partnership with the African Association for Geospatial Development (AGEOS), that the Tunis Science City organized, on Saturday, February 8th, 2020, the Geo-Education Day: Geospatial and Development, which is an awareness day about spatial technologies and geographical information and their importance as development tools.

The programme involved three main actors of the geospatial field: academics, public as well as private organizations, to showcase satellite images applications and geographic information systems in Tunisia. The first lecture was given by Dr. Nesrine CHEHATA, lecturer at Bordeaux INP and President of AGEOS the title of which is “Satellites: from imagery to reality”. A second lecture was given by Mr. Mehdi BEN HAJ, Director of the coastal observatory at the Agency for Coastal Protection and Management (APAL) and Mr. Mohamed Ali BRIKI, head of projects and Director of APAL. The third and last one is entitled “Discovering the geographic information systems and their applications” and was given by Mr. Omar GAAFAR, Technical Sales Manager at Graphtech and vice president of AGEOS.
