International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2023

from 11-02-2023 to 11-02-2023

The major challenges of sustainable development require the engagement of countries around the world to implement by the year 2030, the promotion of sustainable industrialization for the benefit of all and the encouragement for innovation. These challenges also require that the global community develop talents as much as possible among the new generations. This is why it is important to increase the number of women working in scientific and technological fields.

The celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science this year aims to connect the international community to women and girls in science and technology, and strengthen the links between science and social cohesion for future-oriented strategies. In 2023, this International Day is an opportunity to showcase best practices in addressing the challenges and opportunities of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It focuses on the role of women and girls in science for the benefit of the SDGs, including Water and Sanitation (Goal 6), Affordable and Clean Energy (Goal 7), Industry Innovation and Infrastructure (Goal 9), Sustainable Cities and Communities (Goal 11) and Partnerships (Goal 17).

In order to achieve full and equal access and participation of women and girls in science and to highlight the challenges faced by Tunisian women and girls in the fields of scientific research, entrepreneurship, technology and the humanities, the Tunis Science City sheds the light on career paths through organizing this celebration for the fifth time, on Saturday, February 11th, 2023 at the Al Khawarizmi Auditorium.

Open and free access.
