The International Epilepsy Day is celebrated in various countries around the world. This day aims at promoting the rights of epileptic patients and help raise awareness about this disease. Epilepsy is the most frequent neurological disease in Tunisia, which affects around forty thousand people and around fifty million individuals around the world. It a neurological disorder implying an abnormal brain electrical activity, occurring with seizures. It affects children, teenagers and adults.
The Tunis Science City, in collaboration with the Labour Medical Inspection of Ariana, the Labour Medical Inspection grouping of Ariana, and Attafaol Association, celebrated this day under the theme of ”Let’s break the silence about epilepsy, let’s get it out of the shadows!” with the organization of a series of lectures which was given by imminent specialist doctors.
