International SUN day 2021

At 10.00 am In partnership with the Astronomical Society of Tunisia (SAT)

The Sun is not only a source of light. To learn more about it and on the occasion of the summer solstice, the Tunis Science City organizes on Saturday, June 19th, 2021, a whole day dedicated to this celestial body, to its environment and to its activities, in partnership with the SAT (Astronomical Society of Tunisia).

The programme includes lectures which will be given by eminent scientific researchers. The first one is entitled “Parker Solar Probe, a close look to the solar environment” and will be presented by Dr. Noureddine Raoufi, Space Science Researcher, and Head of the “Parker Solar Probe” project at the NASA. The second one is entitled “Space weather forecast”, and will be presented by Mr. Mohamed Chawket Ouda, Engineer and Director of the International Astronomy Centre in Dubai and first Manager of the Astronomical Observatory of Abou Dhabi. And finally the last one “The Sun, the day’s star”, will be presented by Mr. Hichem Ben Yahia, scientific mediator and head of the Tunis Science City’s Observatory project.

Solar observations and workshops will also be part of the programme.
