Rare Disease Day

When the invisible become visible at 9.30 am At Al Khawarizmi auditorium

The Tunis Science City celebrates the Rare Disease Day, in collaboration with the Charles Nicolle Association for Medical Renovation, and the Tunisian Scouts, on the 26th of February 2022, at 9:30 am.

During the whole month of February, an awareness campaign has been launched in the 24 governorates of Tunisia by the Tunisian Scouts, who were previously trained at the Tunis Science City, doctors who are members of the association.

This event is celebrated worldwide and sheds light on the rare diseases that affect a great number of people. In fact, 6,000 rare diseases are counted worldwide and people who are affected by these diseases are estimated to 300 million. They are crippling the lives of these people and their families.

This day is an opportunity to raise people’s awareness about this issue related to our health, for early diagnosis and for improvement of researches related to their cures.

 

Due to the current sanitary situation, the TSC is engaged to respect the sanitary protocols and preventive measures, including showing the Vaccine Passports at the entry, wearing facial masks, respecting social distancing and ventilating enclosed spaces. Consequently, the filling ratio of the AL Khawarizmi auditorium is limited to 50% of its whole capacity.
