World Day for Safety and Health at Work

The World Day for Safety and Health at Work has been celebrated worldwide since 1996, on April 28th of each year to prevent against accidents and diseases in the workplace. It is also an occasion to commemorate workers who were dead while accomplishing their work duties. The Tunis Science City celebrates this day, on Friday, June 4th, at 9.00 am, with a rich and varied programme, in partnership with the Institute of Health and Occupational Safety and the National office of Civil Protection-Regional Direction of Tunis. The programme includes two conferences entitled “Health and professional safety: responsibility of the employer and the employee” and “The importance of health and professional safety in determining the future professional career”, which will be given by Dr. Sonia FEHRI, Assistant Director of Medical Assistance at the Institute of Health and Occupational Safety, Dr. Mouna MAMI, Department of Medical Control and Safety at Work of Ariana-Regional Direction of Social affairs of Ariana, and Dr. Mejda BANI, Senior Lecturer holder of Aggregation in Occupational Medicine and Coordinator at the Medical Direction at the Institute of Health and Occupational Safety. It also includes two workshops entitled “Safety for all” an “How to handle an accident in the workplace” which will be animated by Mrs. Sana OUSJI, Mrs. Manel SAII and the National office of Civil Protection-Regional Direction of Tunis. Both workshops aim at raising the public’s awareness about the importance of safety and health at work.
