The Tunis Science City organizes, within the framework of its scientific activities of 2021, the World Maritime Day. It aims at shedding light on the importance of sea as a feature of life belonging to a whole ecosystem that has to be protected. It is also a key economic driver for the whole world. This celebration has as main objective to raise awareness of people about the role played by science and technologies related to sea, as they are main tools to reveal the different worrying aspects and economical and environmental challenges. The main theme that will be tackled this year is “Seafarers”. This theme is chosen in order to underline the crucial role of seafarers in the world trading and to attract the attention of people about the exceptional contribution of seafarers during the Covid19 pandemic to ensure the functioning of global supply chains. The programme of the day is composed of a series of conferences and the entry is free.
