Cetaceans in Tunisia and the role of the national stranding network

On the occasion of the celebration of the World Whale Day and within the framework of the “Amazing cetaceans” exhibition hosted by the Tunis Science City from December 15, 2015 to May 8, 2016, a lecture about cetaceans in Tunisia and the role of the national stranding network was organized on Friday, February 19.
This lecture included the following three interventions:
• Cetaceans in Tunisia”, by Mr. Sami Karaa, INSTM Sfax.
• Estimation of cetacean population in Tunisia, and introduction to photo identification”, by Mrs. Rimel Ben Messaoud, postdoctoral researcher at INAT, INSTM.
• National Stranding Network of cetaceans”, by Mrs. Hedia Attia El Hili, INSTM Salammbô.
