Fish biodiversity of marine and continental water in Tunisia

The Tunis Science City organized a lecture entitled “Fish biodiversity of marine and continental water in Tunisia”, which was given by Professor Mejdeddine Kraim and Professor Abdallah Hattour. During this lecture, the lecturers presented an inventory of fish species in Tunisian sea coasts, as well as in brackish water. Much attention was dedicated to common Tunisian fish species including their eco-biological features, their regional and bio-geographical distribution, as well as their ecological, and their economical characteristics including their origin, their classification, the type of hunting, and the stock situation. Different perspectives and recommendations were proposed during this lecture to preserve the Tunisian ichthyofauna and the exploitable species stocks.
