Lecture: Arab sciences between the VIIIth and the XVIIIth centuries: an example of exchange and intercultural activities

The Tunis Science City and the Institute of Research for Development (IRD) organized a lecture entitled “Arab sciences between the VIIIth and the XVIIIth centuries: an example of exchange and intercultural activities”. This lecture was about the Arab sciences and their main role played in the development of the Arab-Muslim civilization. This lecture was given by Mr. Ahmed Djebbar, Professor Emeritus of history of mathematics at the University of Sciences and Technologies of Lille, and researcher on the history of Arab mathematics, associated at CNRS.

This lecture was part of a workshop programme dedicated to young researchers associated with IRD. Its main objective is to reinforce the research network in Maghreb area, to provide us with the opportunity to reflect on the position of researchers in our society and the practice of research, and to get research teams trained on management.
