Leonids

Leonids

We notice a multitude occurrence of Leonids each year in November. They are small meteorites that burn inside the Earth atmosphere when their orbit intersects that of our planet giving a beautiful sight of shooting stars. In fact, none of these meteorites is big enough to reach the Earth surface. All are consumed about ten kilometers away from us. Their brutal crossing of the atmosphere generates severe molecules ionization. Once ionized, the atmosphere located at the target of the meteorite becomes intensively luminous, producing consequently a shooting star in the sky.
