The Xeroderma pigmentosum (XP) is a genetic disease that is characterized by an extreme sensitivity to sunlight, particularly ultraviolet radiation (UV). This disease is due to defective repair of damage done to DNA by ultraviolet (UV) light. A person with XP develops in an early age severe sunburn and eye irritation within minutes of exposure to sunlight, causing consequently premature ageing and skin cancer. XP has a great impact on families and persons affected by this disease. Indeed Children with XP study in very special conditions during their scholarship. Their movements are very limited and they have to practise their activities during the evening.
