Lamps… and lights
By Mr. Riadh Abdelli
On Sunday, May 3rd 2015, at 10.00 am

During this workshop we will talk about incandescent, halogen, fluorescent, sodium, mercury-vapor, and LED lamps and the energy consumption, as well as the functioning principles of these lamps.

Synthesis of vanilla
By Mr. Haythem El Euch
On Sunday, May 3rd 2015, at 11.00 am
Vanilla is a molecule extracted from vanilla pod. However, synthetic vanillin is a molecule extracted from cloves and it is identical to the natural vanillin. I have tears in my eyes
By Mrs. Karima Sleimi
On Wednesday, May 6 at 3.00 pm
The main objective of this exposé is to explain and answer all the questions of the public including children and adults about the reason behind our tears, how people cry, and from what the tears are composed, their origins and their different types. Explanations about the lacrimal system, the lacrimal glands, the eye structure and the chemical composition of the tears will be provided through a series of scientific demonstrations.

Fruits and vegetables: colors and values
By Mrs. Karima Sleimi
On Wednesday, May 13 at 3.00 pm
The main objective of this exposé is to make people aware about the importance of varying the colors of fruits and vegetables in our plates and the benefits from mixing them. We propose a menu of a week combining three colors of food each day. For instance we eat on Monday red, orange and yellow fruits and vegetables, Tuesday; brown green and mallow etc. We indicate at the same time the contribution of the vitamins, the minerals and the antioxidants of each color. It enables us to know the combination of colors we should make each day to prevent ourselves from potential diseases.
