The Perseids

The Perseids

During this Ramadan evening, Sky watchers were offered a stargazing opportunity through telescopes put at their disposal. During this night, it is the meteor shower that the public had particularly observed. Also called Perseids, these meteor showers are actually bits of dust or rock that collide with Earth's atmosphere and heat up gas particles to produce a glowing trail. A handful of them can be seen on any clear night during a meteor shower. They appear at attitude of 120 km average and vanish after more or less a long while at an attitude of 90km.
