Tuberculosis disease

Both lecturesl explained many issues about human and animal tuberculosis in Tunisia. Human tuberculosis remains a major public health issue. It causes the death of at least three million persons per year and ten million new cases. This disease is mostly caused by human bacillus Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Among the causes of human tuberculosis, is the close and extended contact with domestic animals like cattles and cats. Contagion occurs through airways or ingestion of contaminated food, notably milk. However, mandatory pasteurization of milk and eradication of bovine tuberculosis campaigns have considerably reduced the impact of human tuberculosis due to bovine bacillus Mycobacterium bovis (M.bovis).
