At the Tunis Sciency City and Sidi Boussaid Park
Asteroid day is an international day dedicated to sensitize the public about the risks of potential collisions of asteroids and about the importance of developing programs relative to the detection of these celestial bodies in order to protect our planet. This year, the Tunis Science City celebrated this day, in collaboration with the Astronomical Society of Tunisia, and has elaborated a rich and varied programme including a repeated diffusion of the “Asteroid: extreme mission” show at the planetarium, with lectures having as a main objective: sensitize the public about the risks of collisions, a workshop about orbital elements of asteroids and finally a nocturnal telescopic observation at the Sidi Boussaid Park.
