Autism or autism spectrum disorder is a human development disorder characterized by difficulties in social learning and communication with stereotyping behaviours.This type of disability affects one person among 150 in the world.

For the purpose of informing and sensitizing the large public about the facts of this developmental disorder, the Tunis Science Citycelebrated the World Autism Day on Wednesday, April 3rd , 2019, through a programme composed of lectures and workshops.

Six conferences were held: The first is entitled  “How to take advantage of the intellectual style of the child with autism”, and was presented by Dr .Naoufel GADDOUR , a child psychiatrist . The second is entitled “ Genetic component of autistic spectrum disorder’ ’, and was given by Mrs. Saida LAHBIB, a PHD student in genetics .The third is entitled “Multidisciplinary support”, and was presented by Mrs. Malek EL BEJI, an occupational therapist, Mrs .Mariem KAHRI, a speech-language pathologist, Mr. Anis ELAID , a social assistant and Mr.Iyadh TURKI ,a psycho-motor therapist. The fourth conference is entitled “Autism spectrum disorder and nutrition”, and was presented by Dr. Shiraz BEJI, the fifth is entitled “Exploitation of new techniques and technologies for the treatment of autism” , and was given by Dr. Slim CHERNI. The last but not least is entitled “inclusion and integration pedagogy”, and was presented by Mr. Noureddine HADDAOUI, an educational psychologist. There also were booths and workshops.
