Call for participation

 

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research - The General Direction of Scientific Research, organized, in partnership with the Tunis Science City, The Science palace of Monastir, The Tunisian Sciences and Youth club, and the Youth For Science Foundation, the second edition of the “Fest of Science” from Saturday, November 10, to Thursday, November 15, 2018.

This event was organized within the framework of the celebration of The World Science Day for Peace and Development, which is celebrated each year by the UNESCO, on November 10.

This fest aimed at raising the public awareness about the scientific culture, the valuing of the Tunisian scientific community work, the stimulation of youngsters’ curiosity  about science and sparking their interest in scientific careers, the discovery of jobs related to researches, the access to a high quality of scientific information, the sharing of knowledge and exchanges between researchers and citizens, and the adoption of all the issues related to scientific evolutions and the active participation to the public debate.

To attain its objectives, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research  implemented, in partnership with the stakeholder ministries and the civil society, a rich and varied program all over the Tunisian country. The inauguration of the fest was on Saturday, November 10, at the Tunis Science City, under the high patronage of The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It was followed by lectures related to different and important scientific themes, and were given by eminent scientists.  

On this occasion, the Tunis Science City, the Science palace of Monastir and the Science village of Tataouine opened their doors to the public for free during the whole day on November 10.

The Ministry also organized on Sunday, November 11, 2018, in collaboration with the civil society, a great event at the Habib Bourguiba Avenue, including different activities, such as workshops aiming at raising the public awareness about the importance of sciences.

In regional terms, the Tunis Science City, the Science Palace of Monastir, the Science village of Tataouine the universities and the researches centers, organized, in collaboration with the regional delegations of education, as well as the civil society, exhibitions and meetings in the large areas about multiple scientific subjects, notably to raise the public awareness about the importance of science.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research launched a call for participation to the “Fest of Science” to the different higher education and scientific research structures, and associations. They were invited to submit their participation programs in the web site dedicated to this event at fetedelascience.tn , under the form of open doors days for researches or educational laboratories, workshops, experiments, exhibitions, lectures for scientific popularization, scientific debates, and discoveries of cultural and scientific heritages. It also called all the citizens to actively participate in all the activities and events which were organized on this occasion.
