World AIDS Day

The Tunis Science City, under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Minister of Health, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health- the Direction of Basic Healthcare, the Tunisian Association Against Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS, and the Tunisian Association Against Risk Behaviors, celebrated on Saturday, December the 1st, 2018, the World AIDS Day. The objective was to raise the public’s awareness about the epidemiological situation of AIDS in the world and in Tunisia, the detection, the combination prevention and infection control by HIV. Three lectures were given during this day by Dr. Hayat HAMDOUNI, Coordinator with the National Programme on Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS and STI at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Samah AISSA, Assistant Clinical Professor of infectious diseases at Rabta Hospital, and Dr. Meriem HADDAD fromthe Tunisian Association Against Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS. These lectures were followed by the screening of a short movie and a debate about the experience of people living with HIV, exhibition booths of pedagogical documents, a scientific workshop about viruses dedicated to children, and two free diagnostic tests of HIV : Bus of Hope and DNA for all laboratory.
