Stop to plastic pollution: What are the sustainable solutions?

The Tunis Science City, under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, and in collaboration with the National Agency for the Protection of the Environment  (ANPE), the National Agency for Waste Management (ANGED, the National Institute of Marine Sciences and Technologies (INSTM), the French Institute of Tunisia (IFT), Research for Development Institute (IRD), and AMEL GHIZEN Association, organized on Friday, December 21st 2018 a scientific day under the theme of "Stop to plastic pollution: What are the sustainable solutions?". 

The objective of this event is to warn the large public about the impact of plastic waste on environment, notably on terrestrial, aerial, and aquatic faunas. What kind of planet we are going to left to the futur generations? this event also presents the latest progresses in science and technology in terms of prevention against plastic pollution. What are the sustainable solutions that can be proposed today? 

Documentary films were screened on this occasion, and lectures were given by eminent tunisian and French researchers: Dr. Nasreddine Benttaieb, from AgroSup Dijon of Bourgogne University (Dijon, France), Pr. Pascal Degraeve from the University Institute of Technology of Claude Bernard University of Lyon 1 (Bourg-en-Bresse, France), and High officials, as Mr. Jean-François Ghiglione, Assistant Director of the Banyuls Oceanograhy Observatory (France), Mr. Samir Kaabi, Point Focal PAM/MEDPOL of ANPE and Mr. Badreddine Lasmer, Excecutive Director of ANGED. The programme was enriched by a demonstrative booth about plastic recycling (ANGED) and a theatrical play for children entitled "The quest for knowledge" (scenography a making off by Mr. Fayçal BEZZINE).
