The Night of Stars 2020

From 9.00 pm to Midnight

The Tunis Science City organizes, on Saturday, August 22nd, 2020, its 18th edition of the night of stars. It will mix together science and culture within a rich and joyful atmosphere from 7.00 pm to midnight. It is a particularly awaited event from all astronomy amateurs and also from the large public. During this evening, people will be given the opportunity to discover the night sky through telescopes and observe the Moon, as well as Jupiter and Saturn planets.

Varied animations will be proposed to the public, in collaboration with the Astronomical Society of Tunsia (SAT), Jeunes Sciences Tunisian Association (AJST), Young Astronomers’ Association (TAYA), Tunisian Association of Aeronautics (ATA), and “Aca Robotics” start up. The programme includes lectures entitled “Moon Spatial Missions”, “Mars, future destination”, “Summer sky”, “Shooting stars” and “The beauty of the universe through HEBBEL telescope” which will be presented by Mr. Sabri MEKKAOUI, from the European Spatial Agency and other lecturers.

A show with an astronomy tale “Fedaoui Falaki” will also be presented to the public with musical interludes entitled “HAMS” which will be played by the musician Mohamed Gharbi.

The launching of a drone and the presentation of the first Tunisian nano-satellite will be conducted by “TELNET HOLDING”. A live video streaming, as well as astronomical observations, animation booths and scientific experiments will also be proposed to the public during this evening.
