The Night of Stars

On the occasion of the partial eclipse, which took place on Tuesday, July 16th, and the 50th anniversary of the first step on the Moon, the Tunis Science City organized the 17th session of the night of stars. A night, where science and art are mixed in a rich and festive atmosphere was scheduled, from 7.00 pm to 00.00 am. Varied animations were proposed, in collaboration with the Astronomical Society of Tunisia (SAT).  

The programme included scientific lectures. The first one was entitled “The partial eclipse of the Moon” and was given by Mr. Naoufel Ben MAAOUIA, Head of Service of the Universe pavilion of the Tunis Science City. The following one was entitled “Insight mission to the planet Mars” and was given by Dr. Salma BARKAOUI, Researcher at CNES and JPL laboratories of the NASA and collaborator of the Insight project. The third one was entitled “The Sun and the Parker Solar Probe mission”, by Pr. Noureddine RAOUAFI, University Professor and Scientist responsible for the NASA’s Parker Solar Probe mission. The last two lectures were entitled “Spatial observation of the Earth for the climatic changes diagnosis” and “The first steps of Man on the Moon”, were given by Dr. Mehrez ZRIBI, Researches’ Director at CNRS (France) and responsible the Observation Systems Team of the CESBIO.

Dr. Achraf Chargui  came and complemented the evening by musical interludes under the form of acoustic instruments interpretations entitled “Cyrus”. Many other sections enriched the programme, such as the observation of the different steps of the partial Moon eclipse with telescopes, the observation of Saturn and Jupiter planets, from 8.00 pm to midnight, in addition to a commented live streaming, animation booths and scientific workshops.
