World Arabic Language Day 2020

 “Arabic language and digitization: Arabic calligraphy as a model”

The Tunis Science City celebrates on the 18th of December, 2020, starting at 9.00 am, the World Arabic Language Day. The rich and varied programme is composed of a lecture, which will be presented by Mr. Bechir Darraji, University Professor of computer science and calligraphy, two workshops of calligraphy and “Nastaalik” Arabo-Persan writing, a reading workshop, and a drawing workshop.

The World Arabic Language Day is an occasion to shed light on the great contribution of the Arabic language to the universal culture. This celebration has been officially formalized by the UNESCO. The 18th of December is dedicated to the Arabic language, as on this date in 1973, the United Nations approved Arabic as its 6th official language.

 It is worth to note that the Arabic Language is spoken by 422 million of persons all over the world.
