To raise the awareness of the large public about the importance of water and promote its sustainable management, the Tunis Science City and REACT Association celebrated on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019 the World Water Day, under the theme of “Water for all”, in collaboration with the Centre for Water Research and Technologies (CERTE) and the Association for climatic changes and sustainable development.

The programme included a lecture which was given by Mr. Yadh LABBEN, entitled “Water and climatic changes, what are the major issues for Tunisia?” and a free debate about “Water for all”. Scientific workshops about physicochemical properties of water, water rockets launching, a show about Heron’s fountain and cold, competitive games and quizzes around the theme of water with rewards for the winners are also included in the programme.

On this occasion, a new concept called “School of water” was created within the framework of a partnership between the Tunis Science City and REACT Association. This concept is essentially represented through a class showing different roles playing about water share, combined to a panel discussion for children, a workshop dedicated to water, specially designed for welcoming youngsters in order to make prototypes representing the water cycle, and a laboratory of water animated by young researchers from LabEaUE of CERTE.
