The conference venue
Initiated in 1992, the Tunis Science City is an institution in charge of disseminating Science to the lay-public and particularly to the young. Its goal is to make science accessible to everyone regardless of their educational background. It is set up around the remains of a catching pool basin known as the Abou Fehr basin, built in the XIIIth century by Abdallah Al Moustancer Al Hafsi, second sovereign of the Hafsid dynasty (1249-1277) to irrigate, by means of a diversion channel from the ancient Roman aqueducts in Carthage, the Tuniso-Andalusian gardens. Thus, by the choice of its location, the Tunis Science City symbolizes a Tunisia firmly rooted in its past, opened on its present and definitely turned towards its future.
